Welcome to the Rocket Dash project page, where I will be sharing my experiences and the technical details of creating this mobile hyper casual game. Rocket Dash is a simple one-touch game that I developed and published on the Google Play store. The goal of the game is to keep the rocket flying and avoid obstacles by tapping the screen to change the direction of the rocket. Collecting sparkling items that randomly appear on the screen can give the rocket a boost and help it fly faster.
To create Rocket Dash, I used the Unity game engine and applied various programming concepts such as C# programming, object pooling, and Unity's in-built physics system. Unity's visual editor made it easier to build the 2D flat design, and I used Adobe Illustrator to create the artwork for the game. The clean and well-organized C# code helped me in making adjustments and add new features to the game.
One of the challenges I faced during the development of Rocket Dash was balancing the difficulty of the game. The obstacles had to be challenging enough to keep the player engaged but not too difficult to make the game frustrating. I used a combination of different obstacle patterns and random generation to achieve this balance.
Another challenge was optimizing the game's performance for different platforms. To make Rocket Dash accessible across web, desktop, and mobile platforms, I had to optimize the code and graphics for different screen sizes and resolutions. This required a lot of testing and tweaking, but the end result was worth it.
Overall, working on Rocket Dash was a great learning experience for me. I gained valuable knowledge in programming, game development, and mobile optimization. I also learned the importance of testing and iterating to achieve a well-balanced and enjoyable game.
Disclaimer:
Due to prolonged inactivity, my Google Play Store developer account was terminated, leading to the removal of all my mobile games since 2019. Consequently, the links to these games are currently invalid. I am in the process of recreating my developer account and will re-upload the games in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
