  • As a software engineer and a lover of mathematics, I am proud to share with you my experience participating in and winning a national math competition while I was a student at The Bridge Academy. The Mathletes Competition was a national competition that brought together young Mathematicians from different schools across the country. It was an incredible opportunity for me to showcase my mathematical skills and compete with some of the best and brightest students in the country.

The competition started with a Maths masterclass lesson led by the Physics & Maths teacher. During the masterclass, we had the chance to immerse ourselves in Calculus equations and get a better understanding of the concepts that we would need for the competition. The lesson was an eye-opener, and I found myself immersed in the beauty of calculus. After a short break, the competition began, and I was impressed by the level of aptitude displayed by all the other students.

The competition was tough and challenging, but I was determined to do my best. With the help of my teammates, I was able to solve complex mathematical problems and compete with other students. The competition was a knockout round, which meant that one mistake could cost us the whole competition.

After a gruelling competition, I was elated to hear that The Bridge Academy had won the Mathletes trophy! It was a proud moment for my school and me, and I was grateful to be a part of such a talented team. Winning the Mathletes Competition was a testament to my hard work and dedication to mathematics, and it gave me the confidence to pursue my passion for mathematics and computer science. I am also grateful to the competition organisers for providing such an excellent opportunity for young mathematicians to display their talents.

Participating in the Mathletes Competition not only helped me develop my mathematical skills, but also taught me important life skills such as perseverance, determination, and teamwork. These skills have been invaluable to me throughout my journey as a software engineer.

As a software engineer, I have learned that the mathematical concepts and skills I acquired through the competition have been instrumental in my journey. They have helped me to think critically, solve complex problems, and develop efficient algorithms that make my code run smoothly. My participation in the math competition is proof of my versatility and adaptability to different situations, a trait that I bring to my work as a software engineer.

I am proud to have won the Mathletes Competition, and I hope that my experience can inspire other young students to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams.
