  • I am thrilled to share my experiences with you about developing this mobile game using the Unity game engine. Lava Dodge 2 is a game that challenged me both creatively and technically, and I learned a great deal during its development.

One of the key components of Lava Dodge 2 is its use of Unity's in-built physics system. I wanted to create a game that felt natural and fluid, where the dragons moved and interacted with the environment in a realistic way. To accomplish this, I had to dive deep into Unity's physics engine, learning about rigid bodies, colliders, and forces.

The game's core mechanic involves strategically dropping crates on a beam made of light to keep the baby dragons from falling into the lava. I spent a significant amount of time fine-tuning the physics of the crates to ensure they behaved realistically when dropped onto the beam. I experimented with different materials, shapes, and sizes to achieve the desired effect.

One of the biggest challenges I faced while working on Lava Dodge 2 was balancing the gameplay. I wanted to create a game that was both challenging and fun, where players could improve their scores with practice and skill. I spent a lot of time tweaking the game's difficulty, adjusting the physics of the dragons and crates, and testing different levels to find the right balance.

In addition to the technical challenges, developing Lava Dodge 2 also allowed me to exercise my creativity. From designing the dragon sprites to creating the game's user interface, I had the opportunity to develop my graphic design skills. I experimented with different colour schemes, fonts, and layouts to create a visually appealing and cohesive game.

One of the biggest takeaways from working on Lava Dodge 2 was the importance of iteration. I learned that game development is a process of trial and error, where the first version of the game is never the final one. I spent countless hours testing, tweaking, and refining the game until I was satisfied with the final product.

Overall, working on Lava Dodge 2 was an immensely rewarding experience. I am proud of what I was able to accomplish and the skills I developed during the process. It taught me the importance of perseverance, creativity, and technical knowledge in game development, and I am excited to see where these skills take me next.

    Disclaimer:

Due to prolonged inactivity, my Google Play Store developer account was terminated, leading to the removal of all my mobile games since 2019. Consequently, the links to these games are currently invalid. I am in the process of recreating my developer account and will re-upload the games in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
