Flash Dodge 4 is a mobile hyper casual game using the Unity game engine. This project allowed me to demonstrate a versatile array of in-demand skills that are highly sought after by employers in the software engineering industry.
The idea for Flash Dodge 4 came from my passion for creating simple yet challenging games that are addictive and fun to play. The game is designed to test the player's reflexes and quick-thinking skills. The goal is to keep dodging the falling fireballs for as long as possible. You control a white block and have to move to the empty space between the fireballs in time to dodge them. The more fireballs you dodge, the higher your score. The game ends as soon as you hit one of the fireballs.
To develop this game, I used the Unity game engine, which is a powerful and flexible platform for creating 2D and 3D games. I used C# as the programming language, which allowed me to implement complex game mechanics and algorithms. I used the Unity Editor to design the game's user interface, levels, and assets.
The game's core mechanic involves creating a grid of blocks that the player moves across to dodge the fireballs. I used Unity's 2D physics engine to handle collisions and interactions between the block and the fireballs. I also used Unity's built-in particle simulation tools to create the smooth movement of the fireballs and the block.
One of the most challenging parts of the project was optimizing the game's performance to run smoothly on various mobile devices with different hardware configurations. I used Unity's profiler tool to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks.
Working on Flash Dodge 4 has been an incredible learning experience for me. It allowed me to develop my skills in game development, C# programming, and Unity game engine. I also learned how to optimize game performance for mobile devices and how to create a smooth user interface and engaging user experience.
Overall, Flash Dodge 4 is a testament to my ability to create innovative and challenging games using cutting-edge technologies and programming concepts. I am proud of the work I have done on this project, and I believe it demonstrates my competence and expertise as a software engineer.
Disclaimer:
Due to prolonged inactivity, my Google Play Store developer account was terminated, leading to the removal of all my mobile games since 2019. Consequently, the links to these games are currently invalid. I am in the process of recreating my developer account and will re-upload the games in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
